APAD 170: Workplace

That day when I went to work very early…

apad 170 early morning at work

Just 30mins after this photo was taken, the place was suddenly abuzz. The half-empty lot was filled with vehicles and people poured in a matter of time. This is where I work.

This week’s my first week at work so obviously I’m trying to make a good impression. Since it’s been a long while that I was idle, I must say I was excited and a little nervous about going back and be part of the workforce again. You can say that the long years of staying at home has tremendously diminished my confidence. I was afraid I would feel alone (having no friends yet) and confused (don’t know the system yet). Surprisingly the first day wasn’t a hard one. My colleagues were welcoming (we clicked instantly) and helpful as I began settling in my work.

And so begins another chapter…

Here’s a closer at the stupa featured in this post.

This very colourful stupa juts out to the sky, striking, like a red lipstick on a bare face. Notice how intricate the decorations are.

APAD 166: Altar

In 2007, my husband and I went on an exploration trip of the Kampong Trach mountains in Kampong Trach district of Kampot. The moment we entered the pagoda, we were greeted by the locals and ushered us to this altar/shrine inside the cave:

It was very dark but cool inside and we noticed interesting rock formations there. Just before the cave’s exit is this altar and statues of a meditating Buddha sitting on top of a seven-headed water serpent called naga.
