We hired this tuktuk to take us around the Angkor Wat complex in Siem Reap province some years ago. We stopped to look at the temples and when we came back this is what we saw. The tree provided shade to the tuktuk, while the driver slept soundly on a hot summer day. He might already be in dreamland at the time I took this photo so we decided not to wake him up. It didn’t take awhile before he woke up though, and so, we were on our way to see the other temples in our itinerary.

This is one of the old mansions in Kep, Cambodia that was recently refurbished in early 2000s. Kep is a coastal town in southern Cambodia facing the Gulf of Thailand. This is where most expats and locals alike spend their weekends. There are a lot of guesthouses and hotels in Kep catering to the budget, medium and high-end visitors.Kep is a remote but charming “jungle” town, quiet, and very laidback.Worth checking out are the abandoned French-style villas and mansions that dot the whole town.
Although the beach here is not as pretty as the ones in Sihanoukville, people come here for fresh and cheap seafood. For swimming, people usually hop on a boat to nearby Koh Tonsay (Rabbit Island) where a white-sand beach and turquoise waters await the visitors.

Took this in front of the Royal Palace (you can see the Palace wall on the right) mid-afternoon while driving to the grocery store. It was a quiet time for driving, the traffic light. I love the shadows cast by the vehicles. The Royal Palace is in Sothearos Boulevard. The pom-pom like trees on the right are palm trees; they are Cambodia’s national tree.

That’s what I thought about Max when I first saw her in this situation. If you look at this photo, you’d agree with me. She didn’t move to another spot but laid there sleeping. But then again, I caught her sun-bathing many times in our veranda. She must have loved the sunshine despite her long, thick coat. I think this is a perfect entry for Shadow Shot Sunday 🙂

Hi guys. I discovered a fun meme this week called Shadow Shot Sunday. I think I’m going to enjoy this new photo meme. So this is my first entry to SSS, my playful pet Joe. He loves to wreck our veranda garden.
