APAD 179: Romorque
These girls are off to work travelling by romorque to the market to sell their produce. I had a good shot of them when they pulled over beside the tuk-tuk (another kind of romorque but differently built),
A romorque is a motorcycle pulling a trailer. It is most commonly used by the working class, especially outside Cambodia. The yellow sign is not related to my story today but serves as part of the photo’s background.

Sooooorry for the lack of posts.
I now have a job and it’s been full on!
I know it’s just a matter of getting myself organised so, please bear with me for the moment.
This painting caught my attention while on Street 178 near the National Museum. Street 178 is known as the Art Street. There the road is lined with local art galleries and sculpture shops.
It shows an enlightened Buddha, sitting and surrounded by disciples, shortly after he reached Nirvana.

Last Saturday, my husband and I went to Sorya Mall to hunt for that elusive man jeans. We did find a pair, not in Sorya but in Central Market. But I digress.
Before heading home, we decided to drop by the shoes department at the 2nd (or 3rd floor). There the Zebra stora was beckoning to me. I realised we needed a new sauce pan and a food carrier (for me) so off we went. Surprisingly, most of the items there were on discounted rates!
I could not resist the yellow-tags and came home with these:
A stainless steel sauce pan and a two-layer tiffin food carrier. I ditched my old plastic lunch boxes already and turn to this traditional Asian lunch box 🙂

In 2007, my husband and I went on an exploration trip of the Kampong Trach mountains in Kampong Trach district of Kampot. The moment we entered the pagoda, we were greeted by the locals and ushered us to this altar/shrine inside the cave:
It was very dark but cool inside and we noticed interesting rock formations there. Just before the cave’s exit is this altar and statues of a meditating Buddha sitting on top of a seven-headed water serpent called naga.
