Seen at the Cambodian trade fair last month:

Gorgeous, aren’t they?

Yes, they are real gems mined in Pailin, Cambodia.

And no, I didn’t get any. Gems and jewelries aren’t exactly my thing 😛

APAD 216: Cambodian athlete

Posted by on Dec 7, 2011 in A Photo a Day, Addicted to Meme, Cambodia, Cambodia life, That's My World, What's On in Cambodia | 0 comments

I was on a tuk-tuk and saw this young lady driving a moto. She slowed down beside the tuk-tuk when the light turned red, and that’s when I read the back of her backpack that I realised she is a national athlete. I decided to chat her up.

She is bound to Jakarta on Dec 11, she told me, as an official delegate of Cambodia to this year’s the SEA Paralympic Games. She will compete in athletics (running). I don’t know if you can see in the pic but she is using a prosthetic on her right leg.

Good luck to her and to the whole Cambodian delegation. Cheyor, Cambodia!
