Teener 1: Oh yeah, can you spell it?
Teener 2: (Stammers) Fuschia? Uhm… fuschia… F-O-O-S…. oh no. Okay… F-U-S-H…uhmmm… F-U-C-S… hmmmp! Can I change to red instead? Red… R-I-D!
Teener 1: (Scratches her head)

I am so like teener #2, I can’t find something red so this color instead.

My man, and the sea…

This photo was taken in 2005, in the remote town of Kep. At first I didn’t want to go there because of previous experience, but then the very thought of R and me together in this sleepy town tickled my fancy. There we saw the last sunset of 2005. There is a superstition, or whatever you call it, that whoever you spend the New Year with, you will be with for the whole year. Isn’t it sweet? Finally, after 5 years of quiet (or the absence of) Christmas and NY celebration, I had someone special to celebrate it with.

Hi. It’s only Friday but I’m already putting up my Photo Hunt entry! It just shows how excited I am… this is my first time.

Last year I was assigned in the rural town of Kep due to my research work with the moto-dop as my only means of transportation. Since I couldn’t drive a motorbike, my husband accompanied me to Kep where he gladly assumed the role of my moto-dop driver. We traveled all over 3 communes in Damnak Chang’eur district, which is composed of 11 villages, come rain or shine. Of course, our Max goes with us everywhere. To make it easier for her to get on the motorbike, this was what we came up with:

My husband is camera-shy and wants to remain faceless, at least in this entry 🙂
