Signs, signs: Burger house
I’m still on holiday mode. We are still enjoying the chilly weather in the Penh. Down under, the 2015 Australian Open is underway. Which means, I’m glued to my seat watching my favourite tennis players battle it out in grueling tennis action. Since I am mostly watching via live streaming online, I needed new headphones! I asked my husband to drive me to any electronics store in town and found this nice K240 model, a studio headphone, sort of. Just plug it in and you get a really nice sound.
Pardon the blabber. Here’s my Signs entry for this week:
Arguably the best place for American-style fast-food burgers in Phnom Penh.

Hello and Happy New Year.
It took me awhile to go back to blogging. I wanted a looooong holiday before beginning another year of photos. I spent a long time re-organising my craft room-cum-home office. I re-arranged the furniture and brought in the secondhand table with drawers (it’s massive) and cabinet organizers where my stuff will finally be organised and kept. My vintage sewing machine is still here, hopefully, it won’t be gathering dust this year as I plan on cranking in some simple sewing work. I also have calligraphy tools which were sent (presents) from my baby sister. It is my goal that I’d be good at calligraphy and, perhaps, get commissioned to do some calligraphy works this year 🙂
After huffing and puffing from all the lifting furniture and dusting and re-organising, my husband treated me to a burger meal. Where else but, of course, at our favourite burger joint in town.
This is Mike’s Burger House in Camko City. This is the second branch and still the best place to find American-style fast-food burgers in Phnom Penh.

Some cheap RTW (ready-to-wear) clothes at Psah O’Russei. This market is like a wholesale distribution centre for most RTWs coming from Vietnam, China, HK, and many others. It just creeps me out looking at the mannequins.
APAD 288: Sun-drying
I was watering plants in our veranda the other day when I saw these giant cushions in vibrant colours out for drying.
I love the colours! I want cushions for my living room, too. I wonder now where my neighbour got them. If only one of them goes out of their house more often then I would’ve the chance to ask her.
I would like to take this opportunity to greet you all, my blogger friends, a happiest holidays! May we all have a brighter, happier and more prosperous 2015!

The first batch of my handmade holiday cards. Hope they reach their intended destinations.
I made use of my metallic pens and black card stock that I already have.
And, because I do not have proper calligraphy tools, I cheated! I call this faux-calligraphy. At least I tried and I think they kinda look the nice, lol. And if you’re not really convinced, well, it’s the thought that counts! *wink-wink*
Living in a Buddhist country where Christmas is not celebrated doesn’t mean we can’t join in the celebration in this most wonderful time of the year. Happy holidays everyone!
