It’s the holiday season so… yeah. Businessmen feel the need to jack up the prices of goods during this time. Tssss.

Driving along Norodom Boulevard near Wat Phnom I saw this old colonial house that was newly painted. It is beautiful and one of the few that are still found in the city. It houses the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, if I am not mistaken.

apad our world tuesday old colonial building in Phnom Penh

I think this is one of the few that has escaped the hands of businessmen who tear down old buildings to make way for ugly, commercial ones.

What else to do when stuck in traffic?

What else to do while stuck in a traffic? Why, sky-watching, of course!

This photo was taken along Monivong Boulevard last Sunday. It was between 10-11am, the sun was high and it was very hot. That probably caused a lot of people to be hot-tempered as well, lol.

An overloaded cart pulled by a moto slowly making its way to wherever its destination was. This photo was taken along the Russian Boulevard last Sunday.

I pray the driver and his cargo arrived safely.

APAD 049: Strange and ancient

Saw this sign outside a shop selling what look like antique wooden furniture along Sothearos Boulevard.

“Strange” and “ancient” furniture are sold here, according to this sign.

I don’t know what a “strange” furniture is. Do you? I was curious to find out but forgot to ask because my husband and I were busy looking at chairs and work tables.

I doubt it if the stuff sold there are genuine antique pieces. They are poorly made. The work table (with drawers) I was eyeing for my craft table this morning looked great on the top portion. But underneath, upon closer inspection, I noticed that the drawers were poorly joined, some nails are exposed, and there were lots of scratches.
