Ok, I have to admit that challenged me. I know it’s quite easy for some but I had trouble deciding which to post. My husband helped me with this one; he offered some photos that his dad sent to us awhile ago. Thanks to Dad R, this is our choice for this week’s theme:

the 70s

This photo reminds me of the Brady Bunch show… the 70s fashion and all. That’s my husband there when he was 8 years old. Also in the pic is his mum and dad and sister, and was taken in one of their family outings in the east coast of England.

Happy weekend, everyone.

>Wordless Wednesday #25 – Nepali beauty

>nepali woman

My entry for this week is about beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find this woman to be beautiful despite the lines on her face. In Nepal, especially amongst the many hilltribes, women has the most work at home and in the field. This old woman, whose face is hardened by hard work and, perhaps, hard life because of the raging conflicts, still remains hopeful for her country’s future. Nowadays, more and more women organizations have been mobilizing and building the capacity of women in the grassroots so that they could contribute towards peace building and reconciliation in Nepal.

I’m posting my entry, for the Tuesday-Wednesday edition of Wordless Wednesday, this early because I’ll be out-of-town again for our project meeting. Please check out other entries at the Wordless Wednesday HQ.

>Photo Hunt #5 – I love…

My man, and the sea…

This photo was taken in 2005, in the remote town of Kep. At first I didn’t want to go there because of previous experience, but then the very thought of R and me together in this sleepy town tickled my fancy. There we saw the last sunset of 2005. There is a superstition, or whatever you call it, that whoever you spend the New Year with, you will be with for the whole year. Isn’t it sweet? Finally, after 5 years of quiet (or the absence of) Christmas and NY celebration, I had someone special to celebrate it with.
