This sign made us U-turn just because…

The Tomato Specialized Bank building in Phnom Penh.

This is Korean-owned and  one of the recent additions to the Cambodian banking scene. What it specializes in though I do not have the slightest clue. I do however think that the logo – a winking tomato – is cute . ^_^

Tell me, with the recent crash of the banking and financial systems globally, would you entrust your hard-earned money in this bank named after, errr, a fruit, or, a vegetable? Can’t make up my mind but you know what I’m getting at, lol.

  1. I kind of like the winking tomato! I’m not sure I’d want to leave my money there, but I bet they have some cute deposit slips!

  2. Well, that’s the first time I’ve seen a tomato affiliated with a bank. The sign is definitely an eye catcher, though! 😉 I looked them up on the Internet. Sounds like they are in the loan business.

  3. Great mascot for the bank.

  4. I can’t say that a tomato inspires me with financial confidence.
This would be a cute logo for a restaurant, but seems very odd for a bank!

  5. I never had a tomato wink at me before!

  6. That has to be one of the more bizarre things I’ve seen! Great catch.

  7. this is not quite as catchy as an apple computer.
